Average East Midlands house price falls furthest in UKHPI for September

According to the most recent publication of the UK House Price Index for the month of September, by HM Land Registry, the average British house price fell by a proportion of 0.2 per cent in that month whereas for the 12 months building up towards it the value of the average home increased by a proportion of 1.3 per cent to £234,370.

In England alone the recent statistics show that the average house price in England fell by a proportion of 0.1 per cent, with the East Midlands being the region which has experienced the greatest fall in value, going down by 1.2 per cent, while the South East witnessed the greatest monthly rise, by a figure of one per cent.

Specifically, house prices in the East Midlands now average at a sum of £194,219 in comparison to the South East where the average value stood at £329,197 in the month of September.

In regard to annually, however, the region which has experienced the greatest fall in house price over the course of the 12 months building to September 2019 is London, having fallen by a proportion of 0.4 per cent, whereas the North West is the region which has experienced the greatest rise, by a percentage of 2.8.

Comparatively, in Wales, the average house price in the month of September has decreased by a proportion of 2.8 per cent to a value of £164,433 which also means that, from an annual perspective, the average home value in Wales has tumbled by a figure of 2.6 per cent.

In acknowledging repossession sales as well, England saw a total of 564 repossession sales in the month of July 2019 with the region where the most of these sales took place being the North West, with a total of 100, while the East of England witnessed the least repossession sales, with a total of just 17.

By contrast, Wales has a grand total of just 50 repossession sales in July.
