Adelphi Wharf Phase I gets planning approval

£75M development will combine city and countryside living in Salford.

Salford City Council has approved plans to build a luxury residential development.

Based on Adelphi Street, Adelphi Wharf will be home to 580 apartments and townhouses in a location that is just a walk from the delights of Manchester city centre.

This “distinctive scheme” will be a perfect contrast of city and country living, being close to the city centre but also benefiting from picturesque views overlooking the River Irwell.

At a cost of £75M, Adelphi Wharf is in the heart of an area that is thriving because of regeneration and ever-increasing population, while offering residents rivers and meadows that would usually be experienced only by those living in the countryside.

Knight Knox International – a leading property investor – can now press ahead with Phase I, with Fortis Lettings and Management responsible for letting and managing Adelphi Wharf upon completion.

Martin Copeland is the Managing Director at Knight Knox and he is ‘thrilled’ with the project and the benefits it will bring to Salford.

“2015 is proving to be a very exciting year for Salford, due to investment into the city’s regeneration,” he said.

“After several months of preparation, we’re thrilled to be providing the area with high quality residential property and valuable investment opportunities, whilst boosting our portfolio with such a distinctive scheme.”

Fortis Developments will develop Adelphi Wharf, which will be able to boast a number of on-site amenities including landscaped gardens and a private gym.

Car parking spaces will also be available for residents, along with storage space for cyclists.

The Director of Fortis, Kieran Moore, said that Adelphi Wharf will bring to life what is a “vacant site.”

He said: “Fortis Developments has worked closely with Salford City Council and Urban Vision to ensure that the design and visual impact of Adelphi Wharf complements the area, whilst incorporating modern architecture along the city’s waterfront.

“A riverside walkway will be created to offer easy access to the waterfront, allowing residents to enjoy Salford’s surroundings with ease.

“Adelphi Wharf is an exciting project, which we expect the whole area to benefit from, enhancing the city’s growing reputation and breathing new life into this currently vacant site.”

Adelphi Wharf is being constructed in three phases, the first of which should see completion in the first quarter of 2017.
