Glenigan publishes latest Contractors and Clients League Table

According to the latest Contractors League Table in the Glenigan Construction Review for September, Kier remains the most successful contractor, by way of earnings, in the past 12 months by a figure of £387M whereas Mace is the most successful contractor for the month of September by a margin of £43M.

For the month of September, Mace dominated the League Table with earnings reaching a total sum of £577M through a combination of four contracts, while Galliford Try achieved second place on the Table after having accrued £534M across seven contracts.

After Galliford Try, VINCI, Sir Robert McApline, and VolkerWessels respectively gained the positions of third, fourth, and fifth in the rankings, although it was the contractor company Morgan Sindall that actually gains the most contracts over the course of the month with a total of 22 contracts despite placing ninth.

In regard to the previous 12 months, however, Kier remains as the most successful contractor with a total number of 255 contracts amounting to a combined value of some £2.468Bn, while next closest contractor was Morgan Sindall with a total number of 381 contracts that culminated to a total value of £2.081Bn.

After Morgan Sindall, Mace, Balfour Beatty, and Galliford Try respectively claimed third, fourth, and fifth place on the League Table for the past 12 months with corresponding combined values of £1.945Bn, £1.772Bn, and £1.769Bn.

Since October 2018, Morgan Sindall has gained the greatest number of contracts ahead of Kier, who gained the second least, with the third most contracts for the period being awarded to Wilmott Dixon, who placed in sixth on the League Table, at a grand total of 155 contracts.

On the other hand, when looking into the construction industry’s biggest clients, the Department for Transport has claimed the position of the highest spending client for both the year and the month, commissioning a total of 30 contracts since last October, with a combined value of £2.526Bn, and two contracts in September, with a value of £435M.
