Miller Homes pledges to raise £100K for Habitat for Humanity

Miller Homes has pledged to raise £100K for international development charity, Habitat for Humanity, Great Britain’s new Hope Builders Campaign.

The company have contributed £30,000 to the campaign to start off the fundraising, which will lay the foundations for the building of 30 new “Habitat Homes”, which will lift many people out of poverty housing.

The re-launch of the campaign is supported by the Home Builders Federation and aims to give those living in poverty housing a safe, comfortable place to call home. Miller Homes are the first major housing builder to pledge its support.

Chris Endsor, Chief Executive of Miller Homes, said: “We recognise the importance for all families, no matter where they are in the world, of having a place to feel safe, secure and to build a future and by supporting this campaign we have a fantastic opportunity to use our resources, enthusiasm and determination to make a real difference to those who need it most”.

Miller Homes will be organising a number of fundraising events and activities, with one member of their team taking part in next year’s London Marathon, along with a team of employees participating in a Global Villagetrip.

Habitat for Humanity works with over 70 countries across the world, offering simple, sustainable solutions for the vulnerable and the poor. Their focus is on recognising that having a good, quality home is the cornerstone of hope for those living in poverty, and so by providing support they aim to help lift individuals out of poverty by building homes and communities.

Companies are being encouraged to support the charity, with the average cost of a Habitat home being £3000, with the potential to make a difference for generations to come.
