Galliford Try wins £163M Royal Docks contracts

Galliford Try has announced it has secured two contracts worth a combined £163M at Great Eastern Quays in London.

In a deal worth £128M with Notting Hill Housing, Galliford Try’s Partnerships South East will build phase two of the Great Eastern Quays development at the Royal Docks in London.

Around 470 homes will be created on the site, 164 of which will be affordable homes, alongside further landscaping and public amenity works, and 2,400 sq m of commercial, community and retail space.

Partnerships South East are currently on site completing the first phase of the project, which saw 350 new homes built in East London.

The second contract will see the company build 76 homes in a deal worth £35M with developer Almacantar.

The Lyons Place development includes 47 affordable homes plus commercial space and a new petrol station.

Notting Hill Housing acquired the Great Eastern Quays site in 2008 and four years later were selected by the GLA as the preferred partner to deliver the neighbouring site, Gallions Quarter.

The two sites will deliver over 1,500 new homes to the area, and be promoted as one development called Royal Albert Wharf. It is envisaged the development will become London’s next business district.
